Niki and I met each other at the Anatomy and Physiology course of the Complementary Care program at Conestoga College in Waterloo. We then took an “Advanced Healing Techniques” workshop through a different source.

I have taught for over 30 years in various venues including all facets of newspaper publication, specializing in typesetting and graphic arts. I was employed in the printing industry as a production manager in various firms for over a decade. In hindsight, I call this the mind stage.

Shortly after opening my own typesetting firm, I met my husband and we decided I would stay home to raise his children. During that time, I continued with my teaching endeavors, this time in the sewing field.

I have taught a multitude of sewing courses including everything from lingerie to outerwear; pattern making; self-esteem and image enhancement; digitized embroidery; computerized sewing machines. The body stage.

Since the early-90s, I have been on a quest to help others on their personal journey. The spirit stage. Being naturally intuitive and compassionate, the complementary care field turned out to be an ideal venue for me.

I read voraciously and have taken many courses to get to this point in my journey. Presently, I am certified in over two dozen modalities including: Reiki Advanced, Reflexology, Aromatherapy, Heated Stone Massage, VoiceBio, Psych.K and Personal Training. I have completed courses in seated chair massage, Indian head massage (champissage), feng shui, parafango and mud warps, cellulite treatments and other body treatments. Currently, I am enrolled in the Practitioner level of a certification program in Neurolinguistic Programming (NLP).

Relative to coaching: I am a certified spiritual counsellor; certified professional coach; certified money, marketing and soul coach; a professional health and wellness coach and am completing my certification as a “Money Breakthrough Method” coach through the International Association of Women in Business Coaching (IAWBC).

SutopiaThrough Sutopia, I am a member of the Owen Sound Chamber of Commerce, Canadian Council on Holistic Health, Registered Reflexology Council of Ontario, Therapeutic Touch Network of Ontario, Canadian Federation of Aromatherapists, Canadian Federation of Independent Businesses, Can-Fit Pro and the Canadian Professional Trainers Network, and past executive member of RRCO. These associations have Codes of Ethics and Standards of Practice by which I am governed. Also, I am one of  four founding members of the Grey-Bruce Spiritual Network; past-Director of the Owen Sound Chapter of Power of Women Exchange (POWE) and a charter member of the International Association of Women In Business Coaching.

I am the owner/operator of Sutopia Holistic Wellness, a holistic wellness practice near Owen Sound with a wide array of treatments available and a beautiful teaching space devoted to mind-body-spirit connectivity. I also manage Greystone Retreat, a 5-bedroom year-round rental on the shores of Georgian Bay.

Through Sutopia, I give a variety talks and seminars  in the community, volunteer at wellness fairs, share my knowledge as a personal trainer, coach and complementary care practitioner.

At a more personal level, my interests include being outdoors in nature, gardening, biking, flying, hiking, baking, gourmet cooking, building websites, reading and travel. I am married to a wonderful, intuitive and ambitious husband. We have a daughter, a son, a dog and a very busy life.
