Hello, Susan Crutcher here. I want to talk to you today about what point you are at in your business, whether you’re at the point of giving up because you don’t know what way to turn, or if, luckily for you, you are an unstoppable, passionate ball of energy moving forward and doing really well in your business.


And if you are the latter, the passionate ball of energy that’s moving forward … not just a ball of energy … just ignore this message. Congratulations! I’m happy your business is such a success! There’s a lot of people who are in the other category where they’re at the point of giving up cuz they just don’t know what to do.


Things are changing, especially since two years ago when the pandemic hit. And there’s big shifts in personal priorities as well in the way that we do business. And there’s also pivotal trends in place which have to be incorporated into your business for it to survive the years ahead. And if you are missing that underlying theme, your business is in peril.


So you want to know what that number one business trend is? And yes, it involves pivoting the word you’re probably most sick of hearing over the past year. I swear you hear it every day. And it does get tedious. At the same time, it’s very important and you need to pivot in a specific and personalized way.


And it’s not just in business, it’s relevant to your personal life as well. So the big business trend, and there are several, but the number one, one that I am hearing from all my coaches by guides, by mentors that I’ve been listening to that is showing up in conversation a lot more frequently, particularly since the beginning of 2022, is a trend that is very real and will intensify, and it is simply “authenticity”.


People are looking for you to be more authentic. They’re sick of people cheating them. They’re sick of people not being real. They’re sick of being lied to. All the things that have been going on over the last two years are just exacerbating this, and whether or not you are agreeing with what’s going on politically or relative to the pandemic or everything else that’s out there, people want you to be as real as possible.


So the best way to do that is: show them that you’re human and be personal. Connect at a personal level. And how do you do that? You’ve got to rebuild that ‘Know, Like, Trust’ funnel that we all know about. And the problem with the ‘Know, Like, Trust’ funnel is it’s going to be more and more difficult for people to trust since they haven’t been trusting in the last couple years.
They’ve been let down too often. So how can you do that? Like I said, the best way to do it is to be your authentic self, and sometimes that’s the hardest thing to do. At the same time, how do you put yourself out there? How can you be real without worrying about what we call tomato fear about people saying bad things about you, or you’re feeling that they’re saying bad things about you when in fact they’re not likely to do that?


So one of the things you can do, I’m sorry to tell you is: go on video and go live. Do little short ones to get started with, or you can start like what I’m doing right here. I haven’t been on video for a while, so I’m starting with the recording and you can, just do a couple minutes, like this one’s sitting probably around three minutes right now, which is more than enough for most people.


If you’re doing a video, keep it short and sweet. People are more likely to accept an authentic short video that is not perfectly edited. That is not perfect in any way. And you can hear sometimes the sound in my voice isn’t quite right. There’s words that I stumble over. This is just part of the healing process that I’ve been on in the last five years, and it’s annoying, but it’s just how it is.


Hopefully, people forgive me whether or not they know about the history of what happened. So authenticity, keep it short, especially in your videos. Keep it real. Do things that you are interested in to show people who you are. Like, bring in your humour, bring in your hobbies, bring in your health interests, your stories, your experiences, and how can you incorporate that into your business and merge the two together.


And then we’ll talk about in the future, we’re gonna talk about something, what I call your superpower, and finding out who you work with.


And, what would be more authentic for you and how do you find that in a tangible way so that you’re not just making things up. Anyway, we’ll talk to you later. I hope you enjoyed this.
